With all the raspberries coming this year I needed more recipes to do with them. A friend suggested making raspberry vodka and I ran with it. Found some reduced blackcurrants at Waitrose and proceeded to start the process of making raspberry rum and vodka as well as blackcurrant rum and vodka. I did have a look for sloes as well but it’s a bit too early for them.
A lot of online recipes have sugar added to the mixture. Nobody explained why sugar is needed. I only added a touch in as it seems its only for taste, nothing to do with the preserving process. They have been stored away in the garage, to come out after about three months; with the occasional shake now and then.
