A day out to Coombe Abbey, near Coventry, for Dad’s birthday. It’s now a hotel, but still let’s visitors walk around the parks, I imagine the hotel would make a nice backdrop to have a wedding. We missed the tea rooms at the visitor centre by about half hour, in the winter they shut at three o’clock, the hotel only offers tea to patrons dressed ‘smart casual’ so our muddy shoes were not appropriate attire. Instead we went to Stratford Upon Avon to see Shakespears birth place and found a lovely alternate tea room for a sit down and recharge with a rich selection of cakes and pies!!
